Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) are mental health services that are provided to students receiving special education services. These services are provided when students have significant socio-emotional or socio- behavioral needs that impede their ability to benefit from their special education services. Sweetwater Union High School District employs its own ERMHS therapists. These ERMHS therapists are assigned to various school sites and work directly with students on mental health goals as established per students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEP). Adjustments in the level of service is made when appropriate and on an individual basis. IEP meetings are held on an as-needed basis to address all mental health needs of students. For more information on ERMHS services via your student’s IEP, please contact the school psychologist at your school site.
