Mission Statement
The mission of BeST (Behavior Support Team) is to build capacity for school site personal to address the social, emotional and behavioral needs of each student so that they can be successful in all learning environments.
Purpose/Objective
- BeST team members seek to provide consultation in implementing function-based assessments and assessment driven interventions based on data driven decision making.
- BeST will work in collaboration with school site personnel to provide modeling and coaching.
- The behavior consultation process requires flexibility and creativity as well as fluid collaboration (personal motivation) between consultant and consultees.
BeST Utilizes a Multi-Stage Consultation Model:
The BeST consultation model utilizes a multi-stage model that progresses through 5 phases:
- Building a Consultative Relationship
- Problem Identification
- Problem Analysis/Intervention Development
- Plan Implementation
- Plan Evaluation
Before making a referral for behavior support:
- Develop an operationalized definition of the problem behaviors.
- Document site-level interventions and supports that have been implemented.
- Review data collection methods and validity.
- Obtain agreement from school psychologist and an administrator.

They are non-proprietary forms and designed in Google Forms so that they can be customized to address each student’s individualized needs.
